Israeli Defense Forces raid Bethlehem's Aida Refugee Camp early in the morning on July 21st, 2014. Soldiers arrested 3 young men and assaulted several others. They confiscated footage from that night's clashes in Bethlehem from journalist Mohammed Al Azza, briefly detained him and assaulted him and his two younger brothers. A father in the camp attempts twice to visit his brother's home being raided by soldiers in an effort to see his son, and is denied violently by IDF. Screams can be heard in the streets as gunfire and sound bombs from the Israel military go off while youth throw stones toward the soldiers.

During the night from Saturday to
Sunday, around midnight, a group of settlers assaulted the houses
belonging to Zahde and Sharabati families, living in front of Beit
Hadassa settlement, in Shuhada Street. In order to support the families,
more palestinians decided to take to the streets; in few minutes the
situation deteriorated: more settlers joined the assault, overall around
70 people took it part and according to the witnesses some of them were
drunk. They thrown stones against the people concentrated in the street
and once the soldiers arrived, even if they were supposed to stop the
settlers attack, they escorted them using pepper spray against the
Palestinian group while the Jewish fanatics continued to throw stones.
Meanwhile the Israeli Occupation Forces surrounded all the area
forbidding to everybody to get in and refusing to explain to journalists
and human rights defenders what was going on.
During the riot, at
least five persons has been injured: a woman, Jamila, two boys, Marwan
and Sultan, and two men, Mufid and Hassaim. Initially, the ambulance was
prevented to reach the area and the injures were brought on stretchers,
hand carried by a group of volunteers. The transport of the injured was
slowed by the presence of the narrow passage at the checkpoint 56 and
the unwillingness of the soldiers to facilitate the transition. The
others lightly wounded left the area on their own
The attack finished
two hours later and when the soldiers opened the area they threw a
sound grenade in order to disperse the people. Palestinians living in
Hebron are continuously exposed to settlers harassment. Even if the
guilty should be arrested and judged for their violent acts, the army
and the police continue to ignore this simple and fair principle .

The crackdown continues. Then the three bodies of the three missing Israeli teenagers are found. Israeli vigilantes murder & burn a Palestinian youth from East Jerusalem.
The Israeli cabinet has approved a $90 million development program that
would entail an increased security force and police presence in the
mainly Palestinian populated area of Jerusalem al-Quds.
The plan
involves an increase in security forces on the ground and a greater
number of security cameras around the old city of Jerusalem al-Quds.
Although the Israeli's claim that they will provide security for over
306,000 Palestinians living in East Jerusalem, Palestinians claim that
they are merely using this to legitimize a greater Jewish presence in
the predominantly Palestinian areas. Palestinians are now celebrating
the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, Ramadan. They say that by
enforcing strict security around al-Aqsa during this month is a
violation of the rights to pray for all Muslims in East Jerusalem al
Quds. There are currently more than 200,000 Israelis living in
settlements that are deemed illegal under international law in the
Jerusalem area.

After asking for explanations to soldiers, a Palestinian member of the
Popular Struggle Committee released the hands of the shepherd cutting
the handcuffs and allowing him to pray. Palestinians and internationals
reiterated to the soldiers the duty to show them the evidences and to
consider the shepherd's declaration of innocence and not only the
settlers' unfounded accusations. At 3pm the Palestinian detained was
free to back home.
