How do you overcome the fear of a 'non Jewish' state? What's the
connection between supporting the right of return and teaching Arabic?
Another episode in our series 'Talks about Return' and this time with
Yosi Mekaiten, a member of the forum 'Jews for the Right of Return'.
  



While the new draft law concerned the media and the politicians, the
High Court judges discussed the unequal process of granting women an
exemption from drafting on the basis of freedom of conscience for
religious reasons as apposed to non-religious reasons. The petition was
filed by the 'Yesh Gvul' movement together with 100 activist.
 





Four thousand Palestinian minors have been arrested in the past year,
and some 800 minors are now in military jails. This shocking figure
exposes the reality to the lives of Palestinian children under
occupation. This is a daily reality of arrests of children and
adolescents, in violation of their basic rights. Several Knesset
members, in cooperation with civil society organizations, initiated a
discussion on the issue. Has this discussion suggested ways of acting to
change reality?

about military training, for which he is being expelled from his home.
  



 Meet Yasser - father of seven, who wants his sons and
daughters to sleep peacefully, like the children in the settlements
around him, without having to wake up to fire training sounds in the
middle of the night.
 





Meet Qadar - a 52-year-old resident of Ein Halweh. Qadar wants to live
in security and for the Israeli government to recognize the occupied
population and allow them to live in proper conditions.
 



Meet Raqiya - She loves the quiet life in the Jordan Valley, but is
frustrated by the repeated demolitions of her home by the army and the
Civil Administration. The demolitions are intended, according to her, to
exhaust the Palestinian residents and make them leave.
