Jared Kushner, adviser to US President Donald Trump, announced a $50bn
"investment" plan as part of the "Deal of the Century" for the
Palestinians. The Electronic Intifada's Ali Abunimah tells Al Jazeera
that behind the slick marketing is a repackaging of recycled and hollow
slogans that fail to address the root problem: Israeli occupation,
settler-colonialism and apartheid
Rana Ramlawi is a sand sculptor in Gaza City.
She started carving surface drawings on sand and later developed her
talent to create large sculptures that take days to complete.
“I sculpt ideas,” Ramlawi told The Electronic Intifada. “Like the
Palestinian issue and the issue of Palestinian tradition.”
“I don’t make decorative sculptures,” she added.
Ramlawi dreams of participating in international tournaments where she
can represent Palestine.

on the morning of 17 June 2019, Israeli Civil Administration officials
came to Khirbet Khilet a-Dabe' in the South Hebron Hills with a Border
Police and military escort and two bulldozers. They demolished a cement
block structure roofed with corrugated metal that was home to a family
of 12, including 7 children. The troops also demolished the room that
housed the family's solar power equipment and confiscated a solar panel.
The homeowner, who tried to prevent the demolition, was knocked over by
police. The troops then went on to Khirbet al-Halawah. At 11:00 A.M.
they demolished another three cement block structures with corrugated
metal roofs that were home to three families, leaving 21 people,

Ali Abunimah discusses the complicity of the EU, which donated
pre-fabricated classrooms to Palestinian schoolchildren, but did not
ensure that they would be used for the purpose of education, rather than
as a way for the Israeli occupation forces to pillage Palestinian
property for their own profit. Thanks to media outrage the sale of the
classrooms is on hold
Israeli Channel 2 report from 2017 showing that the supposed
"grassroots" Act.IL group is strongly backed by the government of
Israel. The launch party for the group's app took place at a lavish New
York event attended by Israel's anti-BDS minister, Gilad Erdan, and
former Miss Israel, the model Yityish "Titi" Aynaw. For more on this

The Palestinian March of Return, which takes place on Israel's
Independence Day, took place this year for the 22nd time. Rajaa Natour,
Social TV reporter, wonders whether the symbolic mark of the Nakba
through an annual procession replaces an operative return plan that will
succeed in realizing the Palestinians' desire to return to their
homeland. Jewish participants of the March presented to the Palestinian
participants a vision document for a return, written by the Jewish group
from Israel. What do the Palestinians think about the vision that was
read to them?

https://conquer-and-divide.btselem.org. A collaboration with independent research agency Forensic
Architecture, the project illustrates the various measures Israel has
used to encroach upon Palestinian space over the decades; how Israel has
shattered the land into small, isolated units; and how it has
instituted divisions, keeping Palestinians from different areas apart
from one another and from Israelis.
Every year during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, Israeli
authorities approve a package of “relaxation of movement restrictions”
for West Bank Palestinians to facilitate worshippers' trips to
Jerusalem. As a result, tens of thousands of Palestinians headed to
Qalandiya checkpoint, Bethlehem 300 checkpoint, and Zaytoun checkpoint
early on Friday mornings to take advantage of the unusual regulations.
Ahmad Al-Bazz reports from Qalandiya and Bethlehem to show what life
under Israel control looks like.
