This is the first part of Tear Gas in the Morning.  It is the story of Barbara Silverman, a Jewish-American artist volunteering as an activist in the West Bank. The story is loosely based around the authors' own personal experiences and the experiences of real life Palestinians, Israelis and international volunteers.
