Ohad Elhelo, an active reserve officer and a student at Brandeis
University, halted his prestigious summer internship a couple of weeks
ago and flew to Israel in order to participate in Operation Protective
Edge, as “the fact I live in Boston does not exempt me from reserve
duty.” A few days after he returned to the states, he passionately
called to action thousands of exuberant Israel-supporters in an
extraordinary speech at the "Stop the Terror" rally at City Hall Plaza
in Boston. He emphatically stated the necessity of laying a "new
infrastructure of hope" in cementing the groundwork for the future. He
then captured the grave sentiment of the nation in this simple quote: "I
refuse to believe there is a Jewish heart that was not broken for the
death of each Palestinian child." Ohad’s unique approach thrilled the
audience as he eloquently delivered the words so many had been been
waiting to hear.
